Deejay Munga Honourable is refuting reports that he was driving the motor car that was involved in a crash on Mandela Highway on Saturday. The crash claimed the life of Tashana Cumbermack, a resident of Canada.

The artiste, who has been discharged from the Spanish Town Hospital after being admitted, said that he was not the driver of the vehicle and Cumbermack was not a passenger in a Hiace bus, as stated by the police.

Munga has since shared a photo of himself and the young lady where he wrote, “What can I say or do for u to return or make up for this, Tashana Cumbermack aka Tash…aka my Gwallaa. My heart cries. I will rep continuously as u have for me… I am sorry!!”

Yesterday, the deejay’s attorney, Christopher Townsend, confirmed that his client is now recuperating and believes that Munga is unlikely to face charges following the accident.

Mr. Townsend further expressed: “As a matter of fact, if the police do their investigation properly, they would realize the car was actually stopped in Mandeville by police for a spot check and Mandeville police can confirm that he (Munga) was actually at the back sleeping as he had just finished performing at a show.”

Munga made the same claim in his Instagram post where he wrote: “We were both asleep and neither of us was driving the car, contrary to the media or any other reports,î the artiste wrote.

According to a report from the police’s Corporate Communications Unit (CCU), the entertainer, whose given name is Damian Rhoden, and three other men were traveling in a Toyota motor car on Saturday morning when he lost control of the vehicle along Mandela Highway in St Catherine. The report further states that the car collided with a Suzuki Vitara, which then crashed into a minibus in which Canadian national, Cumbermack was a passenger. The 26-year-old Cumbermack was subsequently pronounced dead.

Mr. Townsend then questioned where the police got that report from as Munga was in the back of the motor vehicle with the young miss and it is at the back where the car was really damaged.

Over the past few months, Munga Honourable has experienced a resurgence on the mainstream market with the success of his single Nah Mad (Ova Nuh Gyal), produced by Ajusdivybz Music. He is also currently is answering to charges for the murder of Cleveland Smith, who was shot and killed in 2017.
