Usain Bolt awarded role as exec prod. in ‘The Boy who learned to fly’4 min read

He may no longer be on the track, but sprinter Usain Bolt is still doing big things.

The world’s fastest man was recently honoured by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, for his role as executive producer on the animated film about his life titled ‘The Boy Who Learned to Fly’.

The honour was announced by the sprinter on his official Instagram page earlier today, October 3, 2017. Bolt posted a photo of the official letter, announcing the honour with the caption #Humbled #Thankful.

The Boy Who Learned To Fly, was nominated earlier this year in the category of Outstanding Special Class Animated Program at the 44th Daytime Emmy Awards. The film did not cop the prestigious award, but a nomination was enough to land the outstanding athlete another slice of history as it was his first nomination.

The animation documenting Bolt’s journey to the pinnacles of athletics, was released in July last year and it was produced by Gatorade, in conjunction with the Academy award winning animation studio, Moonbot.
