The man Devnver Smith now popularly- known as Feluké, an adapted name from Nigeria meaning “placed in God’s hands,” is indeed appropriate for this graduate of Alpha Boys’ School, foster home to a number of renowned musicians from Jamaica. Having received vocational training in multiple instruments, Feluké has mastered playing the percussions, and is now establishing himself as a singer and songwriter. Percussions, deeply rooted in his spirit, is the gateway to the music that makes the man.
Feluké has toured with performing artistes Jimmy Cliff, Luciano, Etana, Jah Cure, Gentleman and Ky-Mani Marley, which has gained him much experience and knowledge of global audiences by performing at a number of international festivals such as Reggae Geel, Rebel Salute, Reggae Sumfest, Jamaica Jazz & Blues, Rototom Sunsplash, Summer Jam, Glastonbury and WOMAD. Musical accolades to-date include Stephen Marley’s Grammy Award winning albums Mind Control (Acoustic) and The Revelation Part 1.
Already an accomplished and respected musician, Feluké is now reborn as an Artiste, with music that fuses reggae, jazz, pop, R&B and other genres, creating a unique synthesis. His musical genius is displayed in the multi-textured spectrum of his creations. With his resounding rhythms, telling lyrics, and energetic performance; Feluké is a musical force that cannot be ignored or denied.
