Etana wows Kenya with Bob Marley tribute5 min read

Reggae superstar Etana wowed a crowd of 10,000 screaming fans as she performed in Nairobi, Kenya at “Dobba Fest” held at the KICC grounds on March 18th.

The highlight of her show was a tribute to the late great Bob Marley where she had the 10,000 strong audience singing ‘Redemption Song” in one clear voice.

After her performance, the crowd chanted her name for at least a minute, begging for an encore, but she had exhausted her full performance time.

Reggae stars Luciano and Richie Spice also performed at the event which was a part of a youth initiative organized by Brand Afrika for the government ministry in charge of the Studio Mashinani project.

Upon her return to the island, she will be pushing ahead with the promotion of her latest single, ‘My Man’, which was recorded with producer DJ Frass on his independent label, DJ Frass Records.

Etana believes that the media and other members of civil society are often only too willing to vilify males.

She believes that this song, ‘My Man’ will be a great barometer on which to judge her relevance in the marketplace.
