Last week we gave you all the information on the nominees for the Best Reggae Act category at the MOBO Awards. Well it seems Fans of Dancehall artiste Vybz Kartel are not pleased and quite upset as Mr. Adidjah Palmer was not nominated in the category.

This year, vying for the coveted title are Aidonia, Alkaline, Chronixx, Damian Junior Gong Marley, and Popcaan.

Among the list of nominees, the Popcaan may be considered the front-runner by many having two MOBO wins under his belt after he copped back-to-back titles in 2015 and 2016. Meanwhile, Chronixx has been nominated twice both in 2014 and 2015 and Alkaline received nominations in 2014 and 2016.

Damion Junior Gong Marley who is also a Grammy winner, won his last MOBO award in 2005 but received nominations in 2006, 2010, 2011 and 2012. Meanwhile, dancehall deejay Aidonia is up for his first MOBO nomination. The MOBO Awards which is the equivalent to the UK Grammys stands for “Music of Black Origin” and was established in 1996.
