Solange Sinclair is Miss Jamaica World 20175 min read

Solange Sinclair was crowned Miss Jamaica World 2017 during the Miss Jamaica World grand coronation on Saturday night at the Courtleigh Auditorium in New Kingston.

Sinclair who will represent Jamaica at the Miss World finals in China scheduled for November, beat 17 other finalists to take the crown.

The auditorium quickly filled up with many persons supporting their favourite girl for the crown. As the contestants entered in swimwear courtesy of Mushroom, the crown erupted with cheers and screams, and persons showcasing banners and posters.

After the swimsuit section the contestants got dressed in their evening wear. Following which the sectional prizes were announced. Jeneque Pinnock copped the award for most aware while Solange Sinclair and Brianne St Juste walked away witht he awards for most congenial and people’s choice respectively. After all the contestants exit the stage, it was time to announce the winners of the fast track competitions which would guarantee those ladies an automatic spot in top 10. Sasha Henry, Ms Maxie Department Store walked away with the prizes for top model, talent and fitness, Diedre McKenzie, Ms Melia Braco copped the award for beauty with a purpose and Megan McNaughton, Ms Eyeland Eyewear got the prize for beach beauty.

The remaining spots for the top ten were quickly filled and the ladies were then invited to conduct personality interviews with one of the evening’s host Paula –Ann Porter Jones. After which the top 5 were selected; and Solange Sinclair, Jeneque Pinnock, Sasha Henry, Diedre’ Mckenzie and Brianne St Juste who were all invited individually on stage to select a judge and answer their final question. Reggae stars Nesbeth and Romain Virgo were among the night’s entertainment and the night ended with Diedre McKenzie finishing in second place, Jeneque Pinnock placing third and Solange Sinclair walking away with the coveted title of Miss Jamaica World 2017.
