Doctors still investigating Vybz Kartel’s illness4 min read
Doctors are said to be still investigating the cause of Vybz Kartel’s illness. The entertainer has spent the last five days in hospital receiving treatment for what is believed to be a kidney-related ailment.
His attorney, Tom Tavares-Finson, confirmed that the artiste was still admitted to hospital.
Tavares-Finson told THE WEEKEND STAR; “I actually saw him this morning,”. He, however, declined to say much more about the entertainer, who is currently serving a life-sentence for murder.
It is understood that the deejay had been complaining of pains in his side since last Wednesday.
Dr Elon Thompson, president of Jamaica Medical Doctors’ Association, said the decision to admit a patient who presents with a kidney infection is usually made “if, after receiving antibiotics, the conditions do not change.”
Vybz Kartel is currently serving a life sentence for the murder of Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams.
Despite hospitalisation, Kartel’s name continues to appear on newly released music. Popular producer Diplo recently teased a new track on his iTunes radio show which seems to feature young New Zealand superstar singer Lorde, and longtime collaborator Vybz Kartel.
According to Billboard writer Kat Bein, based on the teased clip, you can hear Lorde’s distinctive vocals singing a smoky throwback to Yellowman’s classic 1984 track and album, Nobody Move, Nobody Get Hurt.
