Hugh Hefner the man responsible for turning Playboy into a multimillion-dollar adult magazine and entertainment empire will spend eternity next to the woman who helped make him a publishing and pop culture icon. The Playboy magazine founder, who died at age 91 on Wednesday (Sept. 27), will be buried at Westwood Village Memorial Park in Los Angeles in a plot right next to actress Marilyn Monroe, according to People magazine.

Hefner reportedly bought the plot 25 years ago for $75,000, ensuring that his final resting place would be alongside the young actress who appeared on the cover of the first issue of Playboy in December 1953, after Hefner pulled together $8,000 to buy pictures of the biggest starlet of the 1950s; Monroe died in 1962 at the age of 36.

Sources have even stated that the star-adjacent plot makes sense for a man whose legendary parties at the famed Playboy mansion were packed with Hollywood and music royalty alongside scantily clad bunnies. His final resting place will put him in the company of many other Hollywood luminaries, including Dean Martin, Truman Capote, John Cassavetes, Rodney Dangerfield, Farrah Fawcett, Burt Lancaster, Frank Zappa, Natalie Wood and Bettie Page, among others.

Hefner’s death was mourned by a wide variety of celebrities, including The Weeknd, Ryan Seacrest, Mark Hamill, Kiss’ Gene Simmons, former cover subject Jenny McCarthy, Rev. Jesse Jackson, Rob Lowe, Kat Dennings, Heidi Montag, Juicy J and others.
