On Saturday Bruno Mars stopped in Michigan in the USA, as a part of his sold out 24k Magic World Tour. At the end of the show, the singer announced that he would be donating $1 million to Flint, Michigan to help provide aid for the city’s continuing water crisis.

According to Billboard, Mars and Live Nation directed the funds from the sold-out concert to the Community Foundation of Greater Flint. The foundation focuses on catering to the needs of children who have been exposed to the lead through the city’s water supply.

Mars said in a statement, “I’m very thankful to the Michigan audience for joining me in supporting this cause. Ongoing challenges remain years later for Flint residents, and it’s important that we don’t forget our brothers and sisters affected by this disaster. As people, especially as Americans, we need to stand together to make sure something like this never happens in any community ever again.”
